Sumpter Museums
Sumpter Oregon holds a rich historic heritage for visitors to enjoy. Our Sumpter Museums cover Sumpter history from the gold rush and founding of our town in 1862 to our historic gold dredging in the Sumpter Valley beginning in 1914 and don't forget our famous Sumpter Valley Railway! Sumpter offers historic buildings that survived the fire of 1917, including the building the Sumpter Municipal Museum calls home, and an outdoor museum which houses gold mining equipment used in Sumpter gold mines.
