Sumpter Oregon Poker Run
June 2006 - time once again to hear the roar of motorcross bikes and four-wheelers rumbling across the Blue Mountains of Sumpter, Oregon!
This year over 100 riders from points from across the Northwest converged here in Sumpter for the annual S.O.T.H.R.A Poker Run!
Young folks, old folks and ages in between enjoyed the fun of off-road trail riding in the mountains surrounding Sumpter!
Our unruly June weather held off throughout the day as riders traversed over 45 miles of high mountain trails. What makes this Sumpter Poker Run unique is the choice of two different trails to run-both approx. 45 miles long.  The advanced
off-road trail offers a bit more of a challenge to the experienced riders while the remaining choice gives folks a somewhat easier ride. Most riders come for our great Sumpter trails, some are lured by the 80% payout the Sumpter Poker Run offers each year! According to poker run coordinator, Tom Chandler, everyone had a great time with only one minor mishap involving an errant wheel! By all accounts, the one day Sumpter poker run event went very well! We are proud to have the SOTHRA poker run here and we would like to thank all the riders for coming to Sumpter, Oregon and we hope to see them again real soon!
